Founder

Born and raised in the coral colour-skied Cayman Islands, Jo brings the warmth and genuine spirit of her island upbringing into the tech landscape. With deep ties to the country, tracing her lineage to its first settlers, she continuously strives to carry the legacy of community and togetherness that defines her Caymanian roots.

Jo’s journey is carved by her diverse experiences – from her 15 years as a dedicated employee and partner at one of the country's premier global legal firms to her pivotal decision to embrace the full-time role of a devoted mom to three young children since 2013. During this chapter, she immersed herself in various business and charitable endeavours, including taking on additional roles where she served her country, church and community.

Fueled by her leadership prowess and legal expertise, Jo set out to create Caraleya - a vision inspired by friendship and shaped by the intricate details and experiences of her life as a mom, wife, friend, family member and colleague.

Every element and feature of the app was guided by her desire to create a tool that makes life’s tasks a little easier and actions a little kinder so that everyone can be inspired to ‘live thoughtfully.’
